fabulously forty | birmingham lifestyle photography

forty is obviously the new beautiful and laquinta "quin" wears it well! you may remember quin from her esession. the weather was definitely on our side for her session. perfect light, perfect temperature! seriously, it was so peaceful and serene as we took over avondale park. ive known quin since forever and now i call her family =) she chopped off her long tresses and gave us a new look for her birthday! and she's cut it even more since then; just too sassy {smile} thanks quin for allowing me to document your milestone. here's a quick sneak peak of our session.

50 Years Forward | Birmingham, AL

i don't know what rock i've been hiding under but i'm glad i'm nosey enough to find out why streets are blocked and people are walking to the park. what i found tonight was an event that everyone should have attended. i was so excited when i got out of the car and heard one of my favorite gospel artistis, donnie mcclurkin on the stage. and he was just the beginning. other guests (that i saw while i was there) included clifton davis, cece winans, wes morgan (<---this dude!!! wow), jamal bryant, and other guests.

its been 50 years. 1963 was the year that our parents, grandparents, and great grandparents fought for our civil rights. the city of birmingham was known all over the world for the horrific events that were occurring. i'm thankful for those that weren't afraid to stand up and for those that were afraid but fought anyway. its their courageous acts that provided us a life of freedom. anyone that knows me will tell you i'm always talking about moving and leaving birmingham. while i that may be true, i am proud to say i was born and raised in a city that has such a rich, cultural history.

tonight's event was only the beginning of what's to come. be sure to visit 50 years forward to learn more about our history and the events that are planned.

van + stephanie | birmingham engagement photography

i don't know if i should tell you how much fun i had with these two or how much love i witnessed. meet van and stephanie. this had to be the easiest session ever! they are complete naturals. the love they share is so profound. they laughed, joked, and loved the entire time! they even danced! there was never a dull moment.

our day transformed from a nice casual look to a fierce duo of fitness of kung fu! stephanie also wore her mom's bracelet and ring to keep her mom close during this important time of her life. there was a moment while taking a back of camera peek that she became excited and shocked over her resemblance to her mother.

this beautiful couple will wed next may on the beautiful island of jamaica. they are both eagerly awaiting the big day. i thank you two for including me in your journey to become one 1. here are few images from their session.
